Erinnerungen
My hardest thing is driving into Hooker and passing the school, as this was my daily ritual to pick up my punk. I miss sitting in front of the school waiting for you babe! I know a time will come that I will be able to do that again and it will be in a really, really, really fast car just for you! I love and miss you!
Hey Baby Girl--Some days it feels like it was just yesterday that I last saw you but maybe that was just my dreams. It's still really hard without you & the only thing that consoles me is knowing that I can still see you every night when I close my eyes and that the day will come when I will be with you again. Get Heaven lined out for us & we will all be together again soon. Love you lots, Shelby!
Morning time was Harley's favorite time of day. Everyday before school we would get up and go have breakfast with Grandma. Some mornings Harley would refuse to eat and we would know just how the rest of the morning would go. First I would tell her it was time for a bath and she would say no. Then I would tell her it was time to get out and she would say no. Then we would fight to put her clothes on and do her hair. Grandma loved to do her hair on those days. Then we would gather up her things and head out the door her first question was always "Are we gonna see Jake today?". When would get to school it was always a toss up whether she would let me go or not. I would not trade not even one of those bad days for any other kind of day. Miss you Harley.
Love Dad
My favorite memory of my baby girl is the day she and I were driving around with Grandma Sylvia. Sylvia "as usual" had said something dumb. Harley quietly made a comment. I then asked Grandma, "Did you just hear your granddaughter?" Mom replied, "Yes, she said "Sealbelt Grandma." (Harley was always telling us to put our seatbelts on!!! Saftey girl!!!!) About that time Harley yells, "Not sealtbelt grandma!!! STUPID GRANDMA!!!!" I will never forget that day and how serious Harley was that Grandma Sylvia knew what she said!!!!!! I will always remember you Mamas. You will always be in my heart. I dream of the day I will see you again!!! Until then we will meet at night in my dreams. Love always!!!!!
Its been a month baby girl. Not much has changed. Life is not the same without you. Having to figure out what to do with out my day. Not one single minute goes by that I dont think of you and trying to figure out what to do with so much time on my hands is the hardest thing Ive ever done. I keep your memory and I will stay strong for you.
My favorite memory of Harley is Dad pulling out the acoustic guitar and playing what he could of the beginning of Love Song from Tesla. She would sit there on the floor and hum to it. Some times it would be Gettin Better from Tesla and she would hum to that! We all miss you. You touched so many peoples' lives, stranger or not. They could have been Serial killers and they would still get a hug. For all I know, a few of them probably were!
Today was PT day. Never a day went by that Harley didn't ask for Jake. She always knew that thursdays were her day with him. She never confused those other days even though she would ask. I will always be thankful for all the wonderful people who helped Harley and us through this journey and will never forget all the wonderful smiles she brought to peoples faces.
I had the misfortune of living away from my family but Harley never let me forget I was part of the family. Receiving two or three calls a day, I would get to answer a few and our routine would begin. She always asked me how I was doing and then we had to sing. "See Sha Sha, See Sha Sha!!!". Took me a long time to figure out that this was "sing sunshine". Once I did, whenever we talked we never missed the song. I miss the singing as it was a bright mark on sometimes a dismal day. I still hear you shelby and save some "sha sha" time form me. Love you.
No matter how many times i would stop by to see tony, as soon as i made my voice present i would hear....."Is that my Eldon?" she never had to turn her head because as soon as i told her daddy "Whats up brother" she knew i was there....!
